In lieu of our shiny new Facebook page, we decided to do a giveaway (that will be given as a gift from YoYoGames). Starting today and going to the 16th of February, 2013 at 12:00 AM UTC/GMT -4 hours (after of which tickets won‘t be counted), you can do the things below to get a chance to win a GameMaker: Studio license with HTML5. We have two of those packages, and you get another ticket (/chance to get one) by doing one (or some, or all) of the below things.
1.) Like us on Facebook. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Independent-Gaming-Blog/327714010674514
2.) Follow us and then retweet the announcement tweet on Twitter. https://twitter.com/indiewriteup/status/298013337856397313
3.) Comment below and answer: What’s your favourite game that we covered in the last 14ish months (the site’s entire life)?
The more things you do, the more chances you get (IE: you have a max of 3 tickets).
NOTE: That if you do these things, you MUST comment here and link to your accounts (on Twitter and Facebook) for quick verification.
The winners will be announced on the 17th (or perhaps shortly thereafter – we will let you know if that changes) and they will be asked for their emails, with which they will receive their prizes shortly after.
If you need any help or have any questions, please just comment below. Thanks! HAPPY WINNING!
ABOUT THE AUTHOR/ORGANIZER: Nathan. He prefers his last name not to be known. He’s probably a high-class superspy, but we don’t mind. He is a writer at Independent Gaming. He’s our point man for interviews, and occasionally he takes a blowtorch to a game to see whether it measures up to his standards. He also has a game dev blog at http://wonderlandgamesblog.blogspot.ca/

As for the game, I really liked the post you made on the 3 atmospheric flash games recently. My fav out of those would have to be Small Worlds.
I also found the ‘Keeping A Dev Blog’ writeup very useful.
Thank’s for everything you’re doing.

I mostly liked Project Zomboid.
I Get This Call Every Day is really unique. I love developers who embrace trying new things; like, a new way to look at the world or a subtler shade of something we are all familiar with. Indie games rule.

Recently, i liked your article on 0-skill games: Escaping the Prison, Stealing the Diamond, etc. There is something to be said about games that focus on humor and/or art rather than gameplay. Reminded me of my first time watching/playing McPixel or of the recent discussions surrounding Proteus. No skill required, but great fun!
Thanks for the blog!
